House By The Park is an extended, remodelled and fully renovated semi-detached dwelling bordering Richmond Park, in south west London. By adding 48 sqm of extra floor space Weave Architects has dramatically transformed the dated and inward-looking 3-bed house into a 5-bed home that is bright, flexible, eco-friendly and merges with the natural elements.
The brief was to create a new second floor and a ground floor single-storey rear side extension whilst opening up the house spatially and physically to the historic royal park which the clients were not able to enjoy from their existing house.

The elevated volume of the new side extension, linking up with the open plan kitchen and dining space, through the large expanse of full height glazed doors and seamless transition across the level threshold external decking, has allowed the interiors to connect with nature and wildlife. The newly created second floor ensuite bedroom offers commanding panoramic views of the park. All together with strategically placed rooflights, a tall slip window and generous rear balconies, House By The Park has given its owners a new sense of wellbeing and a much welcomed architectural experience.
